We have an immediate opening for a highly experienced and motivated Controller to oversee and manage Ascentium’s accounting activities. You will train, build, and develop a team of exceptional accounting professionals supporting the company’s business management teams. You will review, design, and develop accounting processes and policies. You will be responsible for the company’s accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP policies and standards, its accounting practices, and the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day finance and accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, cash flow, financial statement preparation, insurance, and risk management
  • Review/approve various journal entries/adjusting entries
  • Provide revenue recognition support/leadership based on GAAP principles
  • Ensure accurate billing and management of unbilled and AR balances.
  • Produce monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Train, hire, and develop a team of accounting professionals with exceptional attention to detail, customer service ethic, and ability to support a rapidly growing professional consulting services business with multiple locations in the U.S.
  • Review the account team’s work to ensure operational quality and drive continuous improvement
  • Review, design, develop, and document accounting policies and processes and provide effective financial controls for the company
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and key processes for areas of responsibility
  • Act as p rimary liaison with outside accounting firm. Prepare audit schedules and financial statements for annual audit
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirement
  • Support business leaders with monthly analysis of accounting transactions and internal financial reports

Qualifications Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • 3+ years experience in marketing or technology services industry
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field
  • CPA certification
  • Passionate about accounting and being a great leader and manager
  • Experience in project based accounting
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP reporting requirements is essential
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Axapta is highly preferred
