How to work from home effectively
Get into the right mindset for work.
Get into the routine of getting a good night’s sleep. The average adult between the ages of 18-60 needs 7 or more hours of rest each night, followed by eating a balanced breakfast.
Get dressed for success.
Working from homes does not mean the level of professionalism needs to go out the window. Get up and dress like any ordinary day at the office, even if said office is in your bedroom.
Keep work behind an office door.
If distractions are a weakness, working in an designated area free of interruptions may be necessary.
- Collaborate and communicate. Working from home can often feel repetitive and lonely. Communicate weekly with coworkers to go over important tasks or simply to touch base.
Stay accountable and stick to your goals.
Set weekly goals. Having something to aspire to each day will create a level of accountability for yourself, which in turn will keep you on track.
